ThunderHeart Drums offers a blending of traditional design and contemporary craftsmanship.

Each drum has been thoroughly researched to be faithful to the cultural tradition from which it has emerged; then, where appropriate, modern materials and techniques have been applied to make a better sounding, versatile and trouble-free drum.

All the drums are finished both inside and out with a custom blended oil finish and are fitted with a superior quality goatskin head.

My life path has been varied and exciting: a conservatory education in music, a period of adventuring, followed by years of designing and building in wood, have led me finally to my vocation as a drummaker.

I am also the President of The Baltimore International Rhythm and Drumming Society, Inc. - an organization devoted to promoting all types of expression through percussion and percussion-based music. That's me, introducing Olatunji to the crowd.

All the drums I sell are made entirely by myself. I have no helpers, apprentices, agents or sales people, nor do I want them! - But I do want you to be happy with my drums.

I stand behind the materials and workmanship in each one.

Good thunder to you!

Visionary - Man of Peace

Stream and I worked together when I began making drums in the mid-eighties. ThunderHeart, the name of my giant ceremonial drum was his suggestion and it was through our work together that I first heard so clearly the voice of the drum spirit calling me to this work. This wonderful gift of spirit still resonates after all these years. Thank you, Stream
