This drum is identical in configuration to drums used by many Native American Woodland Tribes. However, a thinner skin is used to add more color and greater resonance to the sound, and the skin is glued rather than stitched on to the side of the frame. These changes allow me to offer a drum that is very light and has the superior resonance that many people want in a drum these days. When it is held by the crossing in the back, the frame is suspended by just four points, allowing the drum to literally sing when responding to one's voice, tapped with the fingers or struck with a padded mallet. |
