ASHIKO 28"

Ashiko refers to one of the early 20th-century West African (neo-folk) musical styles called "highlife" which blended African and European influences. The Ashiko drum is a conical version of the familiar conga drum and evolved during the heyday of Ashiko music. The 28" fir Ashiko has a wonderfully deep, mellow bass in addition to the crisp high end sound that characterizes these drums. Either can be played between the knees or hung from a shoulder strap and will be at home in a wide variety of drumming environments.

"I really enjoy playing your tall Ashiko, John. I looked around quite a while before buying. The other Ashikos just didn't have the same tonal range and quality craftsmanship. I often get compliments on the drum when at drumming get-togethersÉ"

- Barbara Conrad, Baltimore MD.

"I expected the great bass and responsive high end. What continues to surprise me is the wide palette. I keep finding new sounds in this drum of yours. Keep doing what you're doing, man."

- Blake Medford, self-described citizen rampant of the drum culture.
